BACKLESS SWEATER / JEANS / BOOTIES / BAG (similar) / BOATER HAT (similar)
Happy Monday, everyone!
So far, we’ve been pretty lucky this winter and have only been graced with one major snowfall a couple weeks ago. If you’d like to see some pics of my shoot in the snow covered forest, click here to see my previous post.
Since then, the temps have been relatively mild (for the Northeast) and I’ve been lucky to be able to shoot without a heavy winter coat on. Major props to Mother Nature.
I was also able to shoot this backless sweater without freeing my spine off. The sweater itself is very cozy and warm, and I love that the sleeves are long so you can pull them down a bit over your hands. The oversize fit actually makes it very wearable, even if you had to wear a long sleeve layering shirt underneath it.
When I wear oversize pieces, I always like to pair them with form fitting bottoms. Either a pair of skinny denim like these or occasionally a body-con skirt. If I’m wearing anything body-con for daytime wear I like to pair it was something a little more rugged (like a lug sole boot). You know, so it’s doesn’t look like I just stepped out of da clubbb.
Anyway, the skinny jeans I’m wearing are super stretchy and comfortable. They also feature a higher rise, so no muffin tops here! They also come in 2 other washes, but I’m wearing the color Alabama Blue.
I thought some taupe suede accessories would look great with the dusty neutral color of the sweater (which also comes in taupe, BTW). My taupe faux suede booties are on sale right now for under $30. I love the square stacked heel on them – they are the perfect height for running around all day and getting shit done while still looking cute.
My taupe suede fringe bag is by Monserat de Lucca and is unfortunately sold out, but I’ve linked a couple similar suede fringe styles in the slider below.
So, here’s to a couple more months of mild winter and more backless sweaters. What are you wearing to stay warm this winter? Let me know in the comments below!
