Happy Tuesday, babes!
I’ll start off by saying I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day and you were able to spend it with all the amazing moms out there.
We continued our annual Mother’s Day tradition by planting the flower gardens and cleaning up the beach cottage to get it ready for SUMMER.
Yes, that’s right. Summer is right around the corner, people! I can’t wait to be soaking up some rays on the beach in a few short weeks.
Also, in honor of Mother’s Day, did you catch my post on how to arrange flowers like a pro? One of my mom’s favorite past times is floral design and she helped me create an arrangement for the first part of a 3-part series. Check it out here if you missed it!
So, the same day my mom helped me with the floral arrangements, we also took a break to shoot this adorable pinstripe jumpsuit.
I had this brilliant idea to take photos around the Yale campus, so we drove there and as we pulled up by the campus, we noticed tons of students walking around carrying boxes, numerous trucks on the street, and lots of parents standing by. Yes, that’s right, it was college move-out day! Ugh.
What a day to plan a photoshoot.
So, needless to say, we had to come up with an alternate plan. We found this alley/parking lot area in back of one of the student buildings that wasn’t totally overrun with people, so we took a shot. But I promise you, one of these days I will get some photos of the Yale campus, because it is just so beautiful!
Anyway, of course as we started taking photos a million more people started walking by, all staring at me like, “WTF is this girl doing? She definitely doesn’t belong at Yale wearing that getup.” Haha. But I can’t completely blame them for staring, because this look is anything but basic.
And while it might not be appropriate for walking around the Yale campus, it would be great for any dressy summertime event. Think – bridal shower, bachelorette parties, casual garden weddings, even just for weekend brunch with the girls.
And if you’re looking to create the illusion of a little bit more curve in your bod, this is the one. I’ve always been of the more “curvaceous” body type (big boobs, big hips), but this one hugs the curves and accentuates all the right spots. The best part is that this little jumpsuit is under $35! It also comes in a light blue pinstripe which would also be gorgeous for summer.
