Trendy Spanx Leggings Outfits for Any Occasion
Spanx leggings have been popular for many years now – and they have no intention of disappearing anytime soon. They come in many styles and are super versatile, so they can be worn in endless ways. From an everyday casual look, to office chic, to edgy streetstyle, here are some ideas of trendy Spanx leggings outfits – perfect for any and all occasions.
Spanx has a variety of leggings styles available on their website. Their most popular style by far is the Spanx Faux Leather legging, but I also love the Spanx Faux Leather Patent Leggings. I feel like they add a little bit more edge to any outfit.
I also own this style of Spanx leggings which I like, but I feel that they don’t offer as much compression (which may be a welcomed feature to some!)
However, any of these styles are interchangeable with any outfit and can easily be swapped in or out. I also like that they’re a more updated choice from skinny jeans, which have been a wardrobe staple for so long.
The Spanx leather legging is a great versatile pant to have in your wardrobe and they also make a great gift – whether it be for holidays, birthdays, or for a new mom looking to feel more snatched. I remember a couple of years ago at Christmas my mom, aunt, sister in law, and myself all had the classic black faux leather legging on our wish lists – and we all ended up getting them for each other!

There are so many different ways to wear Spanx faux leather leggings, and they are perfect for date night, girls night out, everyday casual outfits to visit the coffee shop, and even – dare I say – for wearing to the office?! If your office has a lenient dress code policy you can definitely get away with wearing these with a blazer or oversized sweater during the Winter months.
Should I Size Up or Down in Spanx Leather Leggings?
I took my regular size in these leggings, however, I did opt for the petite version because I wanted to ensure they were tight and not bunching at the ankles. My height is just under 5’3″ but I usually do NOT get petite sizes because they usually do not fit me right. But lengthwise these do fit perfectly at the ankles, no bunching in sight!
If this is your first pair of Spanx leather leggings, you should be warned – Spanx are meant to fit tight – because their main goal is to snatch you in and smooth you out. So even if you order your size and they look small right out of the package, they are probably still the proper size for you. So, with all that being said, I would go with your regular size on these. If you’re truly in between sizes, then size up for the best fit.
How are Spanx Leggings Different from Regular Leggings?
As I mentioned above, the Spanx leggings are meant to snatch! The whole brand mission behind Spanx is to smooth out any lumps and bumps, and make women feel the most beautiful and confident in what they’re wearing. Regular black leggings may offer some slight compression, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say not many brands can compare to Spanx. What Are the Best Tops to Wear with Spanx Leggings?
There are really so many different ways to style them, some of my favorites are cozy flannel tops, sweater vests, a blousy white button down shirt, an oversized blazer, a graphic tee, or layered with a denim jacket. Even an oversized plain white tee is a great option!
How to Wash Spanx Leather Leggings
This is a question I’ve been asked frequently, so I thought I would address it here. Since these leather look leggings have a unique texture and material, it may be tricky to launder them. I recommend an inside-out hand wash or gentle cycle in the washing machine, with a hang dry. Do NOT put your leggings in the dryer! The heat will definitely compromise the texture and composition of the material.
Spanx Outfit Ideas | What to Wear with Faux Leather Leggings
This is one of my favorite outfits with my Spanx leggings. I wore a plaid jacket shirt with a black turtleneck, baseball cap, and a crossbody bag. I wore this with black boots, but would also look super cute with some white sneakers or Adidas Sambas.
Here I wore them with an oversized white sweater vest layered over a long sleeve black top. I added a faux leather bucket hat to style the outfit with a more streetstyle vibe.
I love the crop sweatshirt in this leather leggings outfit. It’s definitely one of my favorite ways to style them in the Winter season! It would also look cute with some white sneakers.
Here’s an elevated look styling my Spanx leather leggings – worn with a white pom pom sweater and long wool trench coat in a beautiful camel color.
If your workplace has a lenient dress policy I could see this styling working in the office. A black blazer makes any outfit more professional, although I would swap the footwear. Instead of chunky boots I would opt for a more refined pump or even a black loafer.
