Continuing on my tour of Sicily, Siracusa is a fairly large city on the Southeastern coast of Sicily. One aspect which makes this city unique is that in ancient times it was occupied by both the Greeks and the Romans and was, in turn, influenced by both of these cultures.
Within the city there is a historical site where you can visit both a Greek theater and a Roman theater just yards away from each other. This was truly amazing to see and to realize that the construction was done in the 4th century BC was mind blowing.
We also walked inside the Ear of Dionysius, which is a tall, deep cave shaped like an ear. The cave is known for its great acoustics and I was witness to many people magically morphing into Adele when singing inside!
Siracusa is also the birthplace of the engineer and mathematician Archimedes (we have him to thank for calculus!). He was a beloved resident of the city and you can visit his tomb, complete with a sphere and a cylinder sculpture representing his greatest achievements.
Alright, enough of the history lesson for today! Onto my look: this The Fifth Label cold shoulder top is one of my new favorites! It’s subtle “lace” is the perfect mix of dressy and casual; it can be dressed up with heels and a skirt, or dressed down with denim cutoffs like I’ve done here. (UPDATE: The top is currently on super clearance here! Get it before they sell out!)
The statement piece of this look, however, are my pom-pom sandals. We’ve all seen the high-end version which will cost you $225+ but click here to see where you can score these sandals for under $20! Yes, that’s right, under $20. For somewhat of a trend item, you really can’t go wrong for $20 bucks!
What do you think of the pom pom sandal trend? Will you be rocking them this season?
