Now that Summer is sadly rolling to a close, I wanted one more chance to showcase one of my favorite trends from this Summer…fruit print!
For this trend I teamed up with fellow bloggers Kier Couture and Have Need Want. Kier styled a strawberry print dress, and Laura a lemon print dress. Both are super adorbs, so make sure to check them both out!
Fruit prints, specifically lemon and orange prints, remind me of the Summers I’ve spent in Sicily, sipping an Aperol spritz, savoring a gelato, and soaking up the hot sun. There is a little town called Caltigirone in Sicily that is famous for it’s beautiful ceramics and pottery, and many of them include Sicily’s famous lemon print.
Matter of fact, the ceramics of Caltagirone are so iconic, they’ve inspired Dolce & Gabbana in more than one of their most recent collections. (You can check out some of their tile print inspired pieces here and here.)
So, my point is, if they’re good enough for Dolce & Gabanna, they’re good enough for me!
I got this entire look from Forever 21 recently, and although I haven’t tried tie front tops until now, I can say I’m fully obsessed. As long as you have a high enough pant/bottom/shorts to cover most of the midriff these tops can be super flattering because they tie at the smallest, and most flattering, place on the waist. I was also able to still wear a bra underneath this top, which is important for larger busted ladies! I think this is another reason I never wanted to try them, because I always just figured you couldn’t wear a bra with them…? Yeah, I dunno…
Also, these shorts could not be more flattering! Isn’t it great when you find a pair that fits you just right, is not too short, and accentuates all the right spots? I don’t know about you, but for me that’s hard to find. These also come in navy blue, red, and white and are a steal at under $20!
Are you feeling inspired to jet off to Italy yet? Let me know what your favorite Summer print is in the comments below!
I’ve also been experimenting with some new edits and presets…what do you guys think? I was going for a vintage-y vibe here…should I keep experimenting with these or go back to my previous edits??
And finally, I want to thank all of you who follow along with my daily content on my social media channels. Please continue to tag me in your posts, share with your friends, and spread the love! And for those who aren’t following, why don’ you get in on the action? I can be found on: Instagram, Twitter & Pinterest!
