NYFW Recap: Trendspotting with Polyvore

Ladies and gentlemen, yet another season of NYFW has finally come to a close.

I was lucky enough to attend some amazing events this year, and even go backstage at one of the most popular shows, which was totally #GOALS. (Stay tuned for a vlog of the entire experience coming soon! You know, once I actually figure out how to vlog…)

But in the meantime, I wanted to showcase some trends I spotted while at the shows and on the streets. Simply being at the events and venues during NYFW breathes a creative energy and vibrant spirit that you can only understand if you’ve been there personally. I recommend that every blogger, no matter how large or small, attend at least one NYFW, if not for this reason alone.

Below are some looks inspired by the trends I saw at NYFW. I made these awesome collages on Polyvore, which is a website that allows you to easily create collages such as these. It’s super simple to just drag & drop whatever items you like to complete your look. You can create your own collages by clicking right here!

I used Polyvore to map out my looks for the week, and I also used it to create a few “inspirational” NYFW dream looks. You know, those looks I would wear if I had unlimited funds to buy ALL the designer things ALL of the time.

This collage is inspired by the looks above. I spotted these fashionable ladies outside the Tibi show. Tons of fashion photographers were snapping pics of them, so I decided to as well. I’m so glad I did because this photo embodies so many of the trends I saw during the week.

Also, as you can see in the photo, 3 of the 4 ladies are wearing SILVER SHOES. They were literally everywhere. However, I also saw a TON of white boots so I don’t think the white boot trend is going anywhere anytime soon either.

This collage features those infamous $10,000 Saint Laurent boots, but can you guess which pair only costs $39?? You can click each product below the collage to shop each item if you’re curious!

Here is another collage of one of my inspirational NYFW looks. It includes tons of bold color (one of my favorites being flamingo pink!) and faux fur, another trend that was on everyone’s shoulders. I overheard one girl commenting how all the colorful furs looked like flocks of tropical birds underneath the black umbrellas that were ever present due the rainy Manhattan weather.

To be honest, once I started making these Polyvore collages it was so addicting! I decided to create one last collage as a loose representation of the look I wore to the Tibi show (with a designer twist!). Complete with classic red, green, and, of course, a statement leopard coat. If you want to see just how easy it is to make these yourself, I have a Polyvore tutorial up on my Instastory right now!
