Modern Tropical in Cap d’Antibes

La Calade Cap d'antibes

Greetings from the South of France!

We arrived in Cap d’Antibes yesterday via train from Paris, and although our train’s final destination was Nice (only a few towns over) I am happy to report that there were no extra security checkpoints or anything out of the ordinary after what happened on Le Fete Nationale (Bastille Day).

What a sad, sad tragedy.

I woke up early this morning to explore the town and familiarize myself with the surroundings.  I walked all along the coast to the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc and along the way saw some beautiful beaches and scenery.  And not to mention some extravagantly large yachts, which I had originally mistaken as cruise ships from a distance.

Ah, silly me.

This pink wall was the perfect backdrop for this floral skirt I like to call “modern tropical.”  I love that the color isn’t too bright or saturated.

The light blush pink gets the point across without being too in-your-face like most tropical prints.  I paired it with a white ribbed crop top and my extra large sun hat.

The heels are an old favorite of mine, currently not available online, but I’ve linked a few similar styles below.

And here are my favorite black platform heel picks:

What do you think of the modern tropical look?  And how cool is that pink art deco building?
