Hey everybody!  Spring is right around the corner (thank god), and although warmer days are soon ahead, they’re not here quiiite yet.  While dresses will be more in demand as the warmer months approach, we’ll still need something on our legs to keep out that persistent winter chill.

Well ladies, fear not, because I’ve found the solution to all your chilly gams this season: patterned tights!

Keep on reading to see my tips on how to wear patterned tights…

SWEATSHIRT DRESS / BERKSHIRE TIGHTS / PINK FURBOOTS (similar) / HAT

Patterned tights add a fun and funky addition to any look, including dresses, skirts, and ripped denim.  I’ve chosen to pair these polka dot tights by Berkshire with an oversized sweatshirt dress.  Believe me when I say this dress is soo warm and comfy, you could practically sleep in it.  It’s under $35 (UPDATE: it’s now on sale for $26!) and also comes in black and a dusty pink color. (I’m wearing the beige color, even though it is definitely on the pink side.) I paired the look with some combat boots, which I folded down for extra style, and a baseball cap for a streetstyle vibe.

Oh, and let’s not forget my giant pink fur coat.  Like, I said, it isn’t Spring quite yet!

Here are my top tips on how to wear patterned tights:

Keep the Rest of the Look Simple

If you’re wearing a patterned tight, then you probably won’t want any crazy patterns or extra “stuff” going on in the rest of your clothing. Keep the rest of your look simple with solid colors.

Pair with Color

Patterned tights are usually only available in black or nude, so for the rest of your look…wear some color! Whether you’re into muted pastels or preppy brights, either one will look great when worn with patterned legs.

Keep it Short

I always like to pair my patterned tights with the shortest skirts and/or dresses possible (I mean, this is kind of my rule at all times, but still…).  This allows the most leg (and pattern on the tights) to be shown off.  You wore them to be seen, am I right?

You can shop all of Berkshire’s Trend tights collection below (mine are the first pair, called Sheer Dots):

You can also shop all of these fun patterned tights I’ve found, starting at only $5!  I am completely obsessed with the tights with the writing up the back…so chic!

So, I hope these tips helped give you some ideas on how to wear patterned tights this Spring.   What else do you wear to keep warm in these transition months? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
